Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote user to disclose limited information.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access control in the register endpoint when processing user-supplied storage locations during table or view registration. A remote user can supply a caller-selected Iceberg metadata file location to disclose limited information.

Exploitation requires a deployment using S3 credential vending, and the server-side read occurs only if the catalog's underlying storage credentials can read an object outside the allowed storage locations.
