Improper locking in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-80606
Published: August 28, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper lock handling in xe_pt_svm_userptr_pre_commit() and related userptr invalidation paths when processing userptr operations with CONFIG_DRM_XE_USERPTR_INVAL_INJECT enabled. A local user can trigger a userptr invalidation path to cause a denial of service.
Only builds with CONFIG_DRM_XE_USERPTR_INVAL_INJECT enabled are affected.
