Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to disclose sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in the atk_ec_present() function in the asus_atk0110 hwmon driver when processing a malformed firmware package returned by the GGRP ACPI method. A local attacker can provide a zero-length sub-package to trigger the out-of-bounds read and disclose sensitive information.
