Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in the mlxsw Spectrum PTP packet-finish ingress-delivery path when processing unmatched PTP entries concurrently with NAPI polling. A remote attacker can exploit the race condition to cause a denial of service.

Exploitation requires a transmit-timestamp timeout to produce an unmatched entry while the owning NAPI thread is polling on another CPU.
