Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of deferred completions in the bnxt_en transmit ring when handling transmit traffic with deferred completions. A remote attacker can send a burst of packets that fills the ring followed by a large software UDP segmentation offload packet that cannot fit to cause a denial of service.

Exploitation is possible with rings containing 457 or fewer descriptors under the default CONFIG_MAX_SKB_FRAGS configuration.
