This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Authentication bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-9939)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication on the target system.

The weakness exists due to improper authentication. An attacker with network access to the SiPass integrated server can bypass the authentication mechanism and perform administrative operations.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in access to the system.

2) Security restrictions bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-9940)

The vulnerability allows a remote low-privileged attacker to bypass security restrictions on the target system.

The weakness exists due to improper permissions and access controls. A remote attacker can bypass security restrictions and read or write files on the file system of the SiPass integrated server over the network.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in information disclosure and modification.

3) Man-in-the-middle attack (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-9941)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to conduct a man-in-the-middle attack.

The weakness exists due to improper permissions and access controls. A remote attacker can perform a man-in-in-the-middle attack, gain position between the SiPass integrated server and SiPass integrated clients and read or modify the network communication.

4) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-9942)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information.

The weakness exists due to improper permissions and access controls. A local attacker can gain access to credentials on the system.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in information disclosure.
