Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-27297)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-27299)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can trigger out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.

3) Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-27274)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to some parsing functions do not check the return value of malloc and the thread handling the message is forced to close. A remote attacker can cause denial of service condition.

4) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-27295)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
