Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3912)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to OctoRPKI tries to load the entire contents of a repository in memory. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Unchecked Return Value (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3911)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to unchecked return value when processing ROA. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3910)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when encountering a repository that returns an invalid ROA (just an encoded NUL () character). A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
4) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3909)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to OctoRPKI does not limit the length of a connection. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
5) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3908)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to OctoRPKI does not limit the depth of a certificate chain. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
6) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3907)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to OctoRPKI does not escape a URI with a filename containing "..". A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and execute arbitrary code on the system.
