Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-36326)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources within the RESTSDK server. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

2) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-36327)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and write arbitrary files on the system, leading to arbitrary code execution.

3) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-36328)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences within the restsdk binary. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and read arbitrary files on the system.

4) Improper Privilege Management (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-36329)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper privilege management in the OTA mechanism. A remote attacker can cause a denial of service condition on the target system.

5) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-36330)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error on firmware version validation. A remote attacker can trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
