Description
This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Improper Authentication (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-44413)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication process.
The vulnerability exists due to an error when processing authentication requests within the shutdown_coreserver action. A remote attacker can bypass authentication process and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Exposed dangerous method or function (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-44414)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to exposed dangerous function within the coreservice_action_script action. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
3) XML External Entity injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-44412)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied XML input within the addDv7Probe function. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted XML code to the affected application and view contents of arbitrary files on the system or initiate requests to external systems.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to view contents of arbitrary file on the server or perform network scanning of internal and external infrastructure.
4) Use of hard-coded credentials (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-44411)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain full access to vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to presence of hard-coded credentials in application code within the InstallApplication class. A remote unauthenticated attacker can access the affected system using the hard-coded credentials.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Improper Authorization (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-44410)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication process.
The vulnerability exists due to improper authorization within the showUsers method. A remote user can gain elevated privileges on the target system.
