Description
The vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the target system.

The weakness exists in one of the diagnostic test CLI commands on Cisco Industrial Ethernet 4010 Series Switches due to a diagnostic test CLI command that allows the attacker to write to the device memory. A local attacker can authenticate to the targeted device, issue a specific diagnostic test command at the CLI, overwrite system memory locations and cause DoS condition or execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.

Mitigation
Update to version 15.2(6.4.19i)E1.
