Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2008-4256)

The vulnerability alows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The weakness exists due to a buffer overflow in the Charts ActiveX Control. A remote attacker can construct a specially crafted Web page, trick the victim into viewing it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system with privileges of the current user.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in arbitrary code execution on the vulnerable system.

2) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2008-4255)

The vulnerability alows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The weakness exists due to a buffer overflow in the Windows Common ActiveX Control. A remote attacker can construct a specially crafted Web page, trick the victim into viewing it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system with privileges of the current user.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in arbitrary code execution on the vulnerable system.

3) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2008-4254)

The vulnerability alows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The weakness exists due to a buffer overflow in the Hierarchical FlexGrid ActiveX Control. A remote attacker can construct a specially crafted Web page, trick the victim into viewing it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system with privileges of the current user.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in arbitrary code execution on the vulnerable system.

4) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2008-4253)

The vulnerability alows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The weakness exists due to a buffer overflow in the FlexGrid ActiveX Control. A remote attacker can construct a specially crafted Web page, trick the victim into viewing it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system with privileges of the current user.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in arbitrary code execution on the vulnerable system.

5) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2008-4252)

The vulnerability alows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The weakness exists due to a buffer overflow in the DataGrid ActiveX Control. A remote attacker can construct a specially crafted Web page, trick the victim into viewing it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system with privileges of the current user.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in arbitrary code execution on the vulnerable system.
