Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 security vulnerability.
1) Directory traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2010-4270)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to view contents of arbitrary files on the server.The vulnerability exists due to insufficient filtration of user-supplied input in "/administrator/components/com_nbill/admin.nbill.php" and "/components/com_nbill/nbill.php" scripts. A remote attacker can send specially crafted HTTP request, containing directory traversal sequences (e.g. “../”) and view contents of arbitrary file on vulnerable server.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to gain unauthorized access to potentially sensitive information.
Note: this vulnerability is being actively exploited against Joomla! installations.
