Security Bulletin

This security bulletin contains one medium risk vulnerability.

1) Input validation error

EUVDB-ID: #VU43440

Risk: Medium

CVSSv4.0: 5.5 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Green]

CVE-ID: CVE-2012-3375

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

Exploit availability: Yes

Description

The vulnerability allows local users to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can cause a denial of service (file-descriptor consumption and system crash) via a crafted application that attempts to create a circular epoll dependency.

Mitigation

Cybersecurity Help is currently unaware of any official solution to address this vulnerability.
