Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2014-6421)

The vulnerability allows remote attackers to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted packet that leverages split memory ownership between the SDP and RTP dissectors.

2) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2014-6422)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform service disruption.

The SDP dissector in Wireshark 1.10.x before 1.10.10 creates duplicate hashtables for a media channel, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted packet to the RTP dissector.
