Security Bulletin
This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.
EUVDB-ID: #VU30571
Risk: Low
CVSSv4.0: 0.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:P/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear]
CVE-ID: CVE-2014-3591
CWE-ID:
CWE-200 - Exposure of sensitive information to an unauthorized actor
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a local non-authenticated attacker to gain access to sensitive information.
Libgcrypt before 1.6.3 and GnuPG before 1.4.19 does not implement ciphertext blinding for Elgamal decryption, which allows physically proximate attackers to obtain the server's private key by determining factors using crafted ciphertext and the fluctuations in the electromagnetic field during multiplication.
MitigationInstall updates from vendor's repository.
Vulnerable software versionsFedora: 21
mingw-libgcrypt: before 1.6.3-1.fc21
CPE2.3https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2015-6881
Q & A
Can this vulnerability be exploited remotely?
No. The attacker should have physical access to the system in order to successfully exploit this vulnerability.
Is there known malware, which exploits this vulnerability?
No. We are not aware of malware exploiting this vulnerability.
EUVDB-ID: #VU33822
Risk: Medium
CVSSv4.0: 4.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green]
CVE-ID: CVE-2015-0837
CWE-ID:
CWE-20 - Improper input validation
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to gain access to sensitive information.
The mpi_powm function in Libgcrypt before 1.6.3 and GnuPG before 1.4.19 allows attackers to obtain sensitive information by leveraging timing differences when accessing a pre-computed table during modular exponentiation, related to a "Last-Level Cache Side-Channel Attack."
MitigationInstall updates from vendor's repository.
