Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2015-8750)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error. A remote attacker can trigger denial of service conditions via a debug_abbrev section marked NOBITS in an ELF file.
2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2016-2050)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The get_abbrev_array_info function in libdwarf-20151114 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds write) via a crafted elf file.
