Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-6437)
The vulnerability allows a local authenticated user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The base64encode function in base64.c in libimobiledevice libplist 1.12 allows local users to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) via a crafted plist file.
2) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-6438)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in Heap-based buffer overflow in the parse_unicode_node function in bplist.c in libimobiledevice libplist 1.12. A remote attacker can use a crafted plist file. to trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-6439)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in Heap-based buffer overflow in the parse_string_node function in bplist.c in libimobiledevice libplist 1.12. A remote attacker can use a crafted plist file. to trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-6440)
The vulnerability allows a local authenticated user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The parse_data_node function in bplist.c in libimobiledevice libplist 1.12 allows local users to cause a denial of service (memory allocation error) via a crafted plist file.
5) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-6435)
The vulnerability allows a local authenticated user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The parse_string_node function in bplist.c in libimobiledevice libplist 1.12 allows local users to cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted plist file.
6) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-6436)
The vulnerability allows a local authenticated user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The parse_string_node function in bplist.c in libimobiledevice libplist 1.12 allows local users to cause a denial of service (memory allocation error) via a crafted plist file.
