Description

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The weakness exists due to stack-based buffer overflow in the `MSFTEDIT.DLL` when handling RDP clipboard content within the message box. A local attacker can trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with system privileges.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.

Mitigation

Update to version 7.37.178.
