Description
This security bulletin contains information about 9 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11851)
The vulnerability allows a local attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to an error in win32k.sys driver, when the Windows GDI component improperly discloses kernel memory addresses. A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information.
2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11842)
The vulnerability allows a local user to obtain potentially sensitive information. The vulnerability exists due to an error when the Windows kernel fails to properly initialize a memory address. A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information.
3) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11847)
The vulnerability allows a local user to elevate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error when the Windows kernel fails to properly handle objects in memory. A local unprivileged user can execute a specially crafted application and gain elevated privileges on the vulnerable system.
4) Informatoin disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11849)
The vulnerability allows a local user to obtain potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to an error when the Windows kernel fails to properly initialize a memory address. A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information.
5) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11853)
The vulnerability allows a local user to obtain potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to an error when the Windows kernel fails to properly initialize a memory address. A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information.
6) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11880)
The vulnerability allows a local user to obtain potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to an error when the Windows kernel improperly initializes objects in memory. A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information.
7) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11831)
The vulnerability allows a local user to obtain potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to an error when the Windows kernel fails to properly initialize a memory address.. A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information.
8) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11852)
The vulnerability allows a local user to obtain potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in win32k.sys driver when the Windows GDI component improperly discloses kernel memory addresses. A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information.
9) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11850)
The vulnerability allows a local user to obtain potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error when the Microsoft Windows Graphics Component improperly handles objects in memory. A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information.
