Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-6380)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.


2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-6377)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in com_fields system component. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.


3) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-6379)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data within the Uri class (formerly JUri). A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.


4) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-6376)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL commands in web application database.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in the Hathor postinstall message in Joomla Core com_admin component. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request to vulnerable script and execute arbitrary SQL commands in web application database.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to gain administrative access to vulnerable web application.
