Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to conduct directory traversal attack on the target system.

The vulnerability exists in the navigate_upload.php code due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can send a POST request with engine=picnik and id=../../../navigate_info.php. that submits malicious directory traversal characters, upload PHP files to arbitrary locations on the system, bypass authentication and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

Mitigation

Update to version 2.8.5 r1355.
