SB2019080201 - Multiple vulnerabilities in 3S-Smart Software Solutions GmbH CODESYS V3 solutions

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Insufficient verification of data authenticity (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9010)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform MitM attack.

The vulnerability exists within the CmpGateway component that fails to properly verify ownership of the communication channel. A remote attacker can perform man-in-the-middle attack and impersonate the communication party.

2) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9012)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform DoS attack.

The vulnerability exists due memory leak within the CmpGateway component when processing network traffic. A remote attacker can send specially crafted packets to the affected application and perform denial of service attack.
