Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Privilege escalation (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-4180)
The vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to unspecified flaw. A local attacker with access to cupsctl can set an environment variable and gain elevated privileges.
2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-4181)
The vulnerability allows a local attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to unspecified flaw. A local attacker can manipulate cupsd.conf and read arbitrary files with root privileges.
3) Cross-site request forgery (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-4700)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform CSRF attack.The weakness exists in the CUPS printing server due to insufficient CSRF protections. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted HTML page or URL, trick the victim into visiting it, gain access to the system and perform arbitrary actions.
