Description
This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Insecure DLL loading (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1458)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to the application loads DLL libraries in an insecure manner within the Microsoft Office. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted Office document, and execute arbitrary code on victim's system.
2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1451)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data within the Microsoft SharePoint Server. A remote authenticated attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
3) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1450)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data within the Microsoft SharePoint Server. A remote authenticated attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
4) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1445)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition when processing untrusted data within the Microsoft Office. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted document file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
5) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1456)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data.
6) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1342)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
7) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1025)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when Microsoft SharePoint Server and Skype for Business Server improperly handle OAuth token validation. A local user can modify the token, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
