Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Improper Privilege Management (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-23880)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges.

The vulnerability exists due to improper privilege management. A local administrator can perform an uninstallation of the anti-malware engine via the running of a specific command with the correct parameters.


2) Cleartext storage of sensitive information (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-23878)

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to clear text storage of sensitive Information in memory. A local user can view ENS settings and credentials.


3) Improper Privilege Management (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-23882)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to escalate privileges.

The vulnerability exists due to improper privilege management. A remote administrator can prevent the installation of some ENS files by placing carefully crafted files where ENS will be installed.


4) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-23883)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error. A local administrator can trigger denial of service conditions via a specific system call which is not handled correctly.


5) Stored cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-23881)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in ePO extension. A remote authenticated attacker can inject and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
