Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-24434)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can send a modified form to server, and crash the nodejs service. An attacker can sent the payload again and again so that the service continuously crashes.


2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-29244)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to npm pack ignores root-level .gitignore and .npmignore file exclusion directives when run in a workspace or with a workspace flag (ie. `--workspaces`, `--workspace=`). Anyone who has run `npm pack` or `npm publish` inside a workspace, may be affected and have published files into the npm registry they did not intend to include.
