Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-7670)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition in w3dtk.dll. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted DWFX file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system, leading to arbitrary code execution.
2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-7671)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input in dwfcore.dll. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted DWFX file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
3) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-7672)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input in dwfcore.dll. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted DWF file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
4) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-7673)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in w3dtk.dll. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted DWFX file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-7674)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in dwfcore.dll. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted DWF file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
6) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-7675)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in w3dtk.dll. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted DWF file and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
