CVE-ID: CVE-2024-52530
CWE-ID:
CWE-444 - Inconsistent Interpretation of HTTP Requests ('HTTP Request Smuggling')
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform HTTP request smuggling attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of HTTP requests. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request to the server and smuggle arbitrary HTTP headers.
Successful exploitation of vulnerability may allow an attacker to poison HTTP cache and perform phishing attacks.
MitigationUpdate the affected package libsoup3 to the latest version.
Vulnerable software versionsUbuntu: 22.04 - 24.10
libsoup-3.0-0 (Ubuntu package): before 3.4.4-5ubuntu0.1
CPE2.3https://ubuntu.com/security/notices/USN-7127-1
Q & A
Can this vulnerability be exploited remotely?
Yes. This vulnerability can be exploited by a remote non-authenticated attacker via the Internet.
Is there known malware, which exploits this vulnerability?
No. We are not aware of malware exploiting this vulnerability.

CWE-ID:
CWE-835 - Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop')
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop when reading WebSocket data. A remote attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website, consume all available system resources and cause denial of service conditions.
