1) Information disclosure

EUVDB-ID: #VU92262

Risk: Low

CVSSv4.0: 1.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear]

CVE-ID: CVE-2024-37891

CWE-ID: CWE-200 - Exposure of sensitive information to an unauthorized actor

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to Prox-Authorization header is not stripped during cross-origin redirects when using urllib3's proxy support with ProxyManager. A remote attacker can gain obtain proxy credentials used by the library.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.

Q & A

Can this vulnerability be exploited remotely?

Yes. This vulnerability can be exploited by a remote non-authenticated attacker via the Internet.

Is there known malware, which exploits this vulnerability?

No. We are not aware of malware exploiting this vulnerability.

2) Path traversal

EUVDB-ID: #VU101653

Risk: High

CVSSv4.0: 8.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Amber]

CVE-ID: CVE-2024-53677

CWE-ID: CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')

Exploit availability: Yes

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences in filenames during file upload within Action File Upload Interceptor. A remote attacker can upload a specially crafted file to the server into an arbitrary directory.

Successful exploitation may allow an attacker to upload an arbitrary file and execute it on the server, leading to a full system compromise.

However, proof of concept for this vulnerability is available.

3) Permissions, privileges, and access controls

EUVDB-ID: #VU101893

Risk: High

CVSSv4.0: 7.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber]

CVE-ID: CVE-2024-56337

CWE-ID: CWE-264 - Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected system.

The vulnerability exists due to incomplete mitigation for #VU101814(CVE-2024-50379) on a case insensitive file system with the default servlet write enabled (readonly initialisation parameter set to the non-default value of false). A remote attacker can upload malicious files to the server and execute them compromising the system.

The mitigation bypass depends on the version of Java used on the system.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.
