CVSSv3.1: 7.7 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]
CVE-ID: CVE-2022-22754
CWE-ID:
CWE-264 - Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass implemented security restrictions.
The vulnerability exists in the way Firefox handles extensions updates. A remote attacker can trick the victim to install a browser extension of a particular type and during auto-update bypass the prompt which grants the new version the new requested permissions.
