Description

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of exceptional conditions error in routing protocol daemon (rpd). A local user can cause a Denial of Service (DoS).

When asregex-optimized is configured and a specific "show route as-path" CLI command is executed, the rpd crashes and restarts.

Repeated execution of this command will cause a sustained DoS condition.

Mitigation
Install updates from vendor's website.
