Description
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences in ZipArchive::extractTo function in ext/zip/php_zip.c and in and ext/zip/ext_zip.cpp in HHVM. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted zip archive to the affected application and create arbitrary empty directories on the system.
