Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in the concat_filename in dwarf2.c in the Binary File Descriptor (BFD) library. A remote attacker can trigger denial of service conditions via a specially crafted binary file, as demonstrated by nm-new.
