Description

The vulnerability allows an unauthenticated network-based attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input within the Routing Protocol Daemon (rpd) when processing BGP update messages with a specific transitive attribute. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted BGP update message over an established BGP session and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
